"What I make of my hands, I give of my heart"

I take your quilt very seriously and strive to make the quilting what you want it to be. Please expect to spend a little time with me discussing your wishes for your quilt, so that together we can decide what designs will look best on your quilt and and show off your hard work - but still fit within your budget.

My long arm machine does not have a computer guided system and I control every motion of my machine by hand. I take great care to ensure the work that leaves my studio is of the highest quality, and I take pride in it’s handmade uniqueness.

Batting

You can provide your own, or it can be purchased from me. I carry 80/20 blend, 100% cotton and 100% polyester. If you provide, Please trim to 4 - 6 inches bigger than your top on all sides. For example, if your quilt is 80" x 90", please trim batting to at least 88" x 98".

Thread

I normally use Superior Threads, So Fine 50wt polyester or Superior Threads, King Tut 40 wt cotton. I charge $5 per thread change, if only one color is used on your top there is NO thread charge.

Backing

You provide the backing fabric. It must be squared and 4 - 6 inches bigger than your top on all sides. If seamed, trim selvage off and press seams open - selvage can be left on the outside edges. Please note: no sheets! I will piece your backing for you for a fee of $10 per seam.

Prep of Quilt Top

  • Trim all loose threads from the back. Loose thread may show through after quilting.
  • Do not baste quilt. Bring or send layers separately.
  • Be aware that fullness and puckers pieced into the quilt or borders cannot necessarily be "quilted out." I will do my best, but fullness could still be present after quilting. Please correct wavy or ruffled borders beforehand.

10% Discount for Referrals

I also offer a 10% discount on your next quilt for referrals.

How to Calculate Quilting and Binding Charges

Quilting Charges

  • Quilting charges are based on square inches.
  • Use this formula to calculate the cost: (width in inches) x (length in inches) x (price per square inch) = cost.

For example:

If your quilt is 80" x 90" and you would like an edge to edge pantograph at $0.03,

the formula would be

 (80) x (90) x (0.03) = $216.

This charge is for quilting services only.

Binding Charges

  • Binding charges are based on linear inches.
  • Use this formula to calculate the cost: (width x2) + (length x2) x (price per inch) = cost.

For example:

if your quilt is 80" x 90" and you would like top sitiched folded binding at $.30,

the formula would be:

(160) + (180) x .30 = $102.

The same quilt with folded binding at $.20 would be

(160) + (180) x .20 = $68.
