Quilt Care Postcard - Red

When I give someone a quilt, they seem to always want to know if they can wash it. And the answer is “yes of course”! So I created these care cards to include with all the quilts I make – that way the recipient will have a handy reference. They are 3″ x 5″ and can be printed on card stock. I hope you might find the cards fun and useful!

Free Pillow Sham Pattern

This is a FREE pattern for making both king and standard size pillow shams. They are quick and easy – why not make a pair to match your latest quilt? Even give them as gifts for an upcoming wedding!

These shams are beginner friendly. Look for “Notes from the Beagle” throughout. It includes a flanged area outside the pillow. I used batting in the front so the flange would have a bit more body, but that is optional!

Fabric Requirements (42″ wide):
Standard Shams 3 1/4 yds for TWO
King Shams 5 1/2 yds for TWO

Finished dimensions: Standard size outside 27″x32″ with pillow area 21.5″ x 26.5″. King size outside 27″ x 42″ with pillow area 21.5″ x 36.5″.

You will receive a full color pdf pattern with complete cutting and sewing instructions for both sizes.

Courthouse Steps

This is a FREE pattern for making a 18″ x 36″ courthouse steps wall hanging. The pattern can easily be used for any size quilt, just add more blocks! The individual courthouse steps blocks are 9 1/2 unfinished.

This is a beginner friendly pattern. Look for “Notes from the Beagle” throughout. I made the cover mini quilt with scraps, but I give you yardage requirements if you prefer a more uniform look.  I used facing instead of binding. There is a free tutorial on facing a quilt on my website – it’s an easy method and also includes a way to hang your mini quilt, so two-for-one yay!

Fabric Requirements:
Both Color A (yellow) and Color B (blue): 1/2 yard EACH
Center Squares (white): 1/8 yard or 1 fat quarter
Backing: 1 1/4 yards
Facing: 1/2 yard *OR* Binding: 1/4 yard

Finished dimensions: 18″ x 36″

You will receive a full color pdf pattern with complete cutting and sewing instructions.
