Friendship Star Christmas Wreath

My first attempt at a Christmas wallhanging! The friendship star is one of my favorite blocks, so I decided to start with that. And a scrap quilt is always a favorite! This little wallhanging measures 30″ x 30″ so it’s not too big to easily find a place to hang it this holiday season. I found the red buttons at my local Hobby Lobby – they add a cute pop of color and, of course, act like the little berries found on holly bushes.

I used a flanged binding on this one – I like the little pop of color the red flange adds to the project. I’ve written a tutorial on how to add a flanged binding – find it under “tutorials” here on my website. It’s quite easy to do and I think adds a fun detail to any quilt.

This one is a great quilt to embellish any way you like – I can see some embroidery in the center, or a ribbon added to the bottom. I hope you can see some way to make this your own!

Thanks for the quick read – I can’t wait to hang my little quilt this Christmas season!

Peace!
