Happy 18th!

This is a recent finish – before COVID 19 actually, but I haven’t been able to get to the post office to mail it. I’ve decided to go ahead and blog about it anyway, so my friend can see it, virtually at least. The quilt is for an old college friend’s daughter for her 18th birthday and high school graduation – she happens to have to same birthday as my son, so I’ll always remember the date!

It’s a nice size for snuggling with on the couch while watching TV or studying. I did some large free motion spiral flowers to give it some nice texture. I used my embroidery machine to make a quilt label, and I used some scraps to make a cute card. I know it’s disappointing for Seniors this year to have to miss their commencement exercises and all the fun and celebrations that surround this time in their lives – so I’m hoping she still feels special and loved and knows people are proud of her!

Quilty Facts (giving credit where credit is due!): Good Vibrations quilt pattern by Michelle Engel Bencsko and Good Vibrations fabric bundle by Elizabeth Olwen both of Cloud9Fabrics.

That’s it for now! Stay home, stay healthy and keep on quilting!

  1. 99, Exceptionally well done, colors, design, I love all the white spaces, they make me appreciate the quilting and the cool block design. And the little touches like your signature triangle, and the accompanying tags, and color swatches. Very, cool friend! Xx, 29
